Communication is Key (And I'm Here to Help You Find It)

Hey there, I'm Ms. Chareva!

I help families who come to me with children from birth-18 years old struggling with communication delays and feeding disorders. You know—the kids who aren’t talking, aren’t understanding, or turn every mealtime into a battlefield.

My dream clients? Families who want real change and are willing to go the extra mile to make it happen.

I embrace changing lives 'One Vowel at a Time' and enhancing communication skills so children can function in society.

Because here’s what I believe:

At the end of the day, we all want to sit down, eat, and talk together as a family.

You’re in the Right Place If…

You’re ready for a drastic life-changing experience and want to be the biggest advocate for your child because you understand that it starts with YOU and in the HOME first. You want your child to interact with others, eat a proper diet, and use speech skills to communicate. You’re willing to go the extra mile and try ‘outside-the-box’ ideas to help your child make progress in the areas where they’re struggling.

Maybe you’re saying, “I need more help with feeding. I need more help with her interacting with other kids. I need more help with him even talking to us as a family.”

If that sounds like you—you’re exactly where you need to be.

Here’s Why Families Trust Me With Their Most Important Work

I’ve been doing this for 20 years, with 10+ years specifically as a speech-language pathologist. My Bachelor’s degree is in Biology with a Chemistry minor, so I can really hone in on the science side of delays and communication disorders. (Nerdy? Maybe. Helpful? Absolutely.)

I started Say AEIOU in 2016 because I felt there was a need for a Speech Pathologist in a low income area. I’ve worked in hospitals with adult patients recovering from strokes and traumatic brain injuries with issues related to memory, feeding and swallowing disorders and apraxia of speech. I’ve worked in schools with children on the Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome, phonological, articulation and stuttering as well as ADHD and behavioral issues. I also enjoyed working with early intervention programs (birth to 3 years old) and other private practices.

I have received specialized training in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS), and Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) feeding. And you know what? I’ve received awards for completing my continuing education hours ahead of deadlines because I’m always taking courses and workshops to keep my skills sharp and have a passion for overall communication skills to help verbal and nonverbal whether through AAC devices, sign language as well as feeding disorders and social awareness.

But here’s the big lesson I’ve learned along the way: if I don’t make you feel comfortable—if your whole family doesn’t feel at ease with me—nothing else matters. You won’t trust my judgment, you won’t do the homework, and therapy becomes just another appointment you dread.

You have to feel comfortable with me, trust what I’m telling you, and know that I truly get where you’re coming from. I need to be able to relate to you and your child. That’s non-negotiable for me, because when you feel heard and understood, that’s when the real progress happens.

What Makes My Approach Different (And Why It Gets Results)

When you work with me, you’ll get intensive therapy strategies that are actually fun for your child. I’m all about setting your child up for the future using functional communication strategies—stuff that actually works in your real life, not just in therapy sessions.

And here’s something important: I won’t compare your child to anyone else. Even if you have siblings in therapy, it doesn’t matter—this is what’s going to work best for your particular child right here.

What you’ll get from me are homework and ideas that don’t require a lot of your time and money. Things you can do whether you’re at the store, at the park, in your car—any real-life situation that’s going to prepare your child for the future without breaking your bank or taking over your life.

Plus, you’ll get access to strategies that other practices often skip—like group therapy (where your child can practice with peers) and feeding therapy (because let’s be real, your child deserves to enjoy mealtime, and so do you).

A Little About Me (Because We’re Going to Be a Team)

I’m a total foodie. I love to eat, and I love trying different foods. That’s probably why I’m so passionate about feeding therapy—I really believe food should be enjoyable, not a battle. In life I’ve learned that most people enjoy two things: eating and socializing.

When I’m not working? I keep things light and fun. You’ll find me playing putt-putt golf, flying kites (yeah, I said it—little corny stuff like that), crocheting, reading and completing 500+ piece puzzles. And I’m obsessed with watching Columbo reruns. Don’t judge.

What really lights me up is watching people—especially kids—have fun, enjoy themselves, and share good food together. That’s exactly why I always incorporate food into therapy sessions. Because that’s how real families connect, right?

I am very passionate about helping others and educating the community.
